About the Position
Pegasus Technology Solutions (PTS) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Services Business Development Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new, qualified sales opportunities for Pegasus Technology Solutions through consistent outbound prospecting and disciplined funnel execution. This position is focused on top-of-funnel business development. Success in the role is measured by activity levels, conversion rates, and contribution to the sales pipeline. This role does not include responsibility for closing sales or ongoing account management.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting

Execute consistent daily outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, supported by email and LinkedIn outreach.

Work from Pegasus Technology Solutions–approved Ideal Client Profiles (ICPs) and assigned target account lists.

Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of all prospecting activity, conversations, and opportunities within the Company’s CRM system.
Discovery and Lead Qualification

Conduct initial discovery conversations to identify prospective clients’ business and IT challenges.

Assess the prospect’s current IT support model, organizational size, complexity, and readiness for change.

Qualify prospects based on defined criteria and convert qualified conversations into documented sales opportunities.
Pipeline Advancement and Handoff

Secure and schedule clear next steps, including discovery calls, assessments, or introductory meetings with Sales or vCIO team members.

Ensure all qualified opportunities are handed on to Sales with complete, accurate, and timely CRM documentation.
Performance Expectations and Activity Standards
-
Execute consistent daily outbound activity with an emphasis on quality and conversion.

Typical expectations include:
-
75–125 outbound cold calls per business day
-
Target connection rate of approximately 10%
-
Real-time CRM updates with no delay
-

Performance is reviewed weekly and monthly based on connected conversations, qualified leads created, meetings scheduled, and overall contribution to pipeline outcomes.
Definition of a Qualified Lead
For compensation and performance evaluation purposes, a lead is considered qualified only when all of the following criteria are met:

A legitimate business or IT problem has been identified

Pegasus Technology Solutions is a viable solution fit

A next-step meeting has been scheduled
-
The opportunity is fully and accurately documented in the CRM system
Six-Month Performance Expectations
Successful performance within the first six months is demonstrated by:

Consistent outbound execution
-
A predictable flow of qualified sales opportunities
-
Accurate and transparent funnel visibility
-
A high level of trust from the Sales organization regarding opportunity quality
Additional Role Clarifications
-
This position is not responsible for inbound sales, relationship management, or closing deals.

The role is execution-focused and centered on outbound business development discipline.

Pegasus Technology Solutions will provide defined target profiles, approved messaging and scripts, training, coaching, and performance scorecards. In return, the BDR is expected to execute consistently, professionally, and in alignment with Company standards and expectations.
COMPENSATION
Compensation for this role may include a base salary and variable compensation, as outlined separately in the offer letter. Variable compensation eligibility is tied to qualified leads created, proposals influenced and closed-won revenue impact.
